Counselling

I work with people who are seeking support with life and decisions, navigating difficulties, loss and transitions.

I use an integrative model in my practice which means that I have training and experience of working with several different approaches of counselling. This helps provide a rich resource that can be used to bring understanding and facilitate change within the counselling work.

To find out more about how I work I have created a number of documents that can be accessed below. These outline in more detail how I practice and what would be good to know if you are interested in working with me.

personal retreats

Retreats are an investment into our life-energy. They are founded on our commitment to move towards, not away from our lives; equipping us with the intention and resources needed to engage with this every-changing, beautiful world that we are a part of.

Over the last 15 years, I have sought to find spaces to pause and ‘retreat’ from my everyday responsibilities and commitments, to gain some perspective or simply take a breath.

Without an abundance of time and money, I have found it difficult to access some of the retreats on offer and have had to figure out how to craft space within the confines of my time and resources. Even if this has just been a day or night away, I have found these times deeply supportive as part of my life rhythm and I have had many conversations with people who have shared their curiosity and interest in doing something similar. However, the reality seems to be that having space on our own with little or no agenda can feel daunting, even though many of us see the benefit of taking time out to reflect and rest.

This has led me to curating a framework of support for those who are wanting to commit to this investment.

Next steps

If you would like to explore this further, I offer a free phone or online consultation which can be booked through the link below.

The offer

To help guide and support individuals who are wanting to create a reflective retreat through 2 online connective sessions;

Session 1: Preparation session (1 hour) – to explore together what you are wanting from your retreat and how to enable this to happen including the practicalities of how to safeguard your time and how you will plan/use this time.

Session 2: Ending session (1 hour) – This aims at being a reflective session to process the time you have had and the journey back into ‘normal’ life.

Practicalities

The aim of this service is to work with you where you are at with the resources you have. I therefore meet with individuals online and your retreat can be anywhere (city or wilderness) and for as little as a day. The only thing that is important is that you can find a space free from your responsibilities and commitments and where you will not feel a constant tugging to put the washing on or send a work email!

 Cost = £100

Fern and ink

A beautifully crafted day of reflection with a focus on creative writing and engaging with nature. The aim of this time is to encourage a slowing down and deeper connection with ourselves, others and the earth. The space is curated and held by John and myself.   John is a published freelance writer, a musician and a research scientist.

We are hoping to begin these in the early summer of 2024 and will update this space when we have confirmed details and dates.
